Job Summary
Pick medications from shelving and storage areas, then accurately check final preparations before presenting to the pharmacist. Fill daily drug orders efficiently, process returned drugs, and pre-pack frequently ordered items during low-volume times. Package materials manually, maintain clean workstation areas, and replenish stock supplies. Alert the pharmacist of any medication that does not scan properly and ensure compliance with government regulations including HIPAA. Work seven to ten hours per day, lifting up to 30 pounds, with overtime, holidays, and weekends available as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to work at a moderate speed
- Able to work during inclement weather
- Reliable
- Detail-focused with analytical problem-solving skills
- Able to physically perform light lifting
- Must be able to work various shifts and day
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed
- May lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- one or more years of long-term care experience preferred
