Job Summary
Pick medications from shelving and storage areas, then scan, label, and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification. Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently, while assisting with pre-packing frequently ordered items and processing returned drugs. Maintain a clean, organized workstation and replenish stock supplies, ensuring all activities comply with government regulations and departmental safety policies. Alert the pharmacist immediately if any medication or product fails to scan properly.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to work at a moderate speed
- Able to work during inclement weather
- Reliable
- Detail-focused with analytical problem-solving skills
- Able to physically perform light lifting
- Must be able to work various shifts and day
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed
- Must comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
- Must follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
Desired Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy experience
- One or more years of long-term care experience
