Job Summary
Pharmacy Courier responsible for transporting patient medications and supplies to physician offices, medical practices, patient residences, pharmacies, or other delivery sites. When not delivering, provides customer service inside the pharmacy, including bagging prescriptions into the will-call system and assisting patients at the register/drive-thru. Requires High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of Pharmacy/medical office or hospital experience preferred. Must follow safety guidelines, verify patient identity and date of birth for each delivery, collect payments as needed, maintain delivery logs, obtain government-issued ID for controlled substances, and comply with state and local driving regulations. Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and operate a computer for data entry is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of Pharmacy, Medical office or Hospital experience preferred
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Must possess a clean driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Strong attention to detail and active listening
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate a computer and enter data
