Pharmacy Clerk (to be technician) - Part Time

Job Summary
Process prescriptions into the computer system, screen for program eligibility, and count and label medications while seeking guidance from licensed pharmacists as needed. Operate cash registers proficiently to handle various payment methods, balance registers, and prepare deliveries. Actively stock new inventory and remove expired items from shelves to maintain accurate pharmacy supplies. Provide positive impressions to patients, visitors, and employees through words and tone during in-person and phone interactions. If working in specialty pharmacy, facilitate the timely coordination and conveyance of medications to patients via delivery or mail. Perform all duties in full compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Kansas Pharmacy Tech License
- Completes all required continuing education
- Successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician I checklist within 90 days of hire
- Computer Literacy and ability to read and comprehend written information
- Problem solving and evaluation abilities
- Able to communicate with others effectively to convey information
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient-and employee-base
- Communicates through appropriate channels
- Use proper chain of command for patient complaints
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- Must be computer literate, especially with Microsoft Office products
- Must be proficient with the Electronic Health Record software
- Must be able to maintain good inter-personal relationship with co-workers and other members of the health care team and the organization
- Provide customer service in accordance to the organization's mission
- Be courteous and respectful when interacting with patients and family members
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to organization's policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
