Job Summary
Greet customers with a smile, answer telephone refill orders, and provide prompt, friendly service. Process cash transactions accurately, stock received products, and mark stickers accordingly while keeping pharmacy supplies well stocked. Review unpicked prescriptions, order supplies, log invoices, and compile medicine for delivery and mail-outs. Coordinate nursing home medicines, administer vaccines where certified, and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. Clean the pharmacy, empty garbage, and ensure a tidy appearance. Work as a team to support pharmacy operations, adhere to personal hygiene and dress standards, and report to work on time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law
- Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in the pharmacy and dispensing area, including extended periods at a pharmacy counter or workstation while filling and processing prescriptions
- Ability to count, pour, package, and label medications, and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, in accordance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and sharps (needles, lancets) associated with pharmacy operations, and where certified, immunization administration
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties
- Ability to maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
- Report to work when scheduled and on time
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of customers' private medical information at all times
- Ability to administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable
- Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with attention to detail
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers accurately
- Ability to file, post, and organize materials; copy data accurately between records; and gather basic information through customer interactions
- Ability to guide customers and provide clear, helpful direction in a professional and compassionate manner
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential patient information
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
