Job Summary
Greet customers, answer calls, and support pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care. Enter, label, and package prescriptions accurately; count, measure, and stock medications while monitoring inventory levels and rotating stock. Maintain a clean pharmacy environment, safely dispose of expired or hazardous waste, and handle clerical tasks including filing, faxing, scanning, and assisting with insurance claims. Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to established protocols. Shifts run Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Neighbourly Pharmacy, Canada's largest network of community pharmacies.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 1 – 3 years experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred
- Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is considered an asset
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
