Job Summary
Greet customers, answer phone calls, and support pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care. Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision while accurately counting, measuring, and packaging medications per protocol. Receive and stock shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support audits. Maintain a clean pharmacy environment, safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste, and perform clerical tasks including filing, faxing, scanning, and assisting with insurance claims and prescription transfers. This part-time role requires 12 to 20 hours per week across varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a minimum hiring rate of $18/hour. Candidates need 1 to 3 years of pharmacy assistant experience and strong organizational skills. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Candidates must be flexible and available to work both weekday and weekend shifts as required
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is considered an asset
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
