Job Summary
Greet customers, answer phone calls, and support pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care. Accurately count, measure, and package prescriptions while entering and labelling medications under supervision. Manage inventory by receiving shipments, rotating stock, and conducting audits, while maintaining a clean pharmacy environment and safely disposing of hazardous waste. Perform clerical duties including filing, faxing, scanning, and assisting with insurance claims and prescription transfers. This part-time role requires 15 hours per week, specifically Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Burnaby Square Pharmacy is part of Neighbourly Pharmacy, Canada's largest network of community pharmacies committed to accessible healthcare with a personal touch.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting
- Foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices
- Highly skilled in the use of Kroll
- Strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry
- Solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes
- Clinical services flagging
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
