Pharmacy Assistant

Pharmacy Assistant role supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include greeting customers and answering phones professionally; entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under supervision; accurately counting, measuring, and packaging medications per established protocols; receiving and stocking medications, monitoring inventory, rotating stock, and assisting with audits; maintaining a clean, organized pharmacy area and safely disposing of expired medications and hazardous waste; performing clerical tasks (filing, faxing, scanning) and assisting with insurance claims and prescription transfers; supporting daily pharmacy operations and performing other duties as assigned. Requires strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and ability to stand for long periods with occasional lifting; willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred completion of a pharmacy assistant program; on-the-job training available; experience with Synmed or Pacmed is an asset; proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll; ability to thrive in a team environment.
