Job Summary
Pharmacy Assistant at Neighbourly Pharmacy in Ontario, part-time (16-32 hours/week). Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care; greet customers; enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision; accurately count, measure, and package medications; receive and stock medication and supplies; monitor inventory and conduct audits; maintain a clean, organized pharmacy area and safely dispose of expired medications; perform clerical tasks (filing, faxing, scanning) and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers; support daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is preferred.
- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
- Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry is an asset.
- Experience with Pacmed and Synmed systems is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
