Job Summary
Clinically interpret and evaluate physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, cost effectiveness, and safety while performing accurate computer order entry, labeling, and dispensing. Initiate documentation to verify accuracy and communicate clinical information to the healthcare team, working with procurement to ensure product availability. Supervise support personnel in compounding, packaging, and labeling of sterile products in compliance with USP 797, while managing inventory and maintaining legally required records. Participate in performance improvement activities and assist in training new employees, including on-call responsibilities. Requires an active Pennsylvania pharmacy license and residence in South Carolina.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in Clinical Pharmacy
- Computer skills (word processing, database, spreadsheet programs)
- Read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
- Write and present information to managers, patients, nurses and physicians
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license that is in good standing
- Must reside in the State of South Carolina
Desired Qualifications
- experience in an IV alternative site environment
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from accredited Pharmacy School
