Pharmacist Resident

Job Summary
Pharmacist Resident participates in a postgraduate training program focused on developing knowledge, attitudes, and skills for rational drug therapy across populations, including specialized disease populations. Responsibilities include clinical pharmacy duties, ensuring safe and efficacious use of medications, supporting formulary processes and medication reconciliation, and providing education to pharmacists, nursing, medical staff, and other stakeholders. The role includes pharmacy administration, quality, and research activities as part of the residency, with a certificate granted upon completion. Requires Texas pharmacist licensure or eligibility, BLS/ACLS, and preferred IV certification; zero experience with strong hospital experience preferred. The position is full-time and based in Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy or recognition as a Foreign Pharmacist Equivalent Graduate by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacist licensure or eligible for Texas Pharmacist license
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
Desired Qualifications
- IV Certification - Intravenous certification (Various)
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- Experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
- Preceptor/mentorship experience (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills (preferred)
- Active Texas Pharmacist license or eligible
- English language proficiency for patient care and documentation
