Job Summary
Manage dispensary activities and support daily Pharmacy Department operations while utilizing hospital medication management IT systems. Provide ward-based clinical pharmacy services including medication reviews and patient counselling, alongside conducting data collection, audits, and medication safety initiatives. Contribute to pharmacy policy development and deliver education to multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Requires PSI registration, strong planning skills, and experience with electronic prescribing systems. Immediate start available for this part-time 12-month fixed-term contract.
Required Qualifications
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
- Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and suitability required to effectively perform the duties of the role
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
- Strong commitment to patient-centred care
- Good IT proficiency and willingness to use clinical and pharmacy information systems
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Experience with electronic prescribing, automated dispensing, or barcode medication systems
