Job Summary
Review prescriptions issued by physicians to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed. Compound medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals. Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs. Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory. This part-time role integrates the pharmacy into the patient care transition model at our TMH Retail Pharmacy location in Tallahassee, FL.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacist experience
- Current licenses in good standing to practice pharmacy in the state of Florida
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care
- A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork
- Computer experience mandatory
- Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently
