Job Summary
Process and dispense medications in a local, community-focused pharmacy setting while monitoring patient drug therapies and advising interventions. Practice in a true pharmaceutical care environment by applying clinical knowledge to improve outcomes and instructing patients on medication administration. Complete operational requirements including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, and managing pharmacy inventory. Integrate with community healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes and contribute to continuous quality improvement activities. Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, peer pharmacists, and pharmacy students. Adhere to applicable legal rules and regulations governing pharmaceutical practice. This role supports the Upper Mattaponi Tribe Health System in King William, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Pharmacy
- Current Virginia pharmacist license
- Demonstrate good mathematical and computer skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state laws related to pharmacy practice
- Two (2) years as a licensed pharmacist
- PGY-1 Residency
- Applicants are required to authorize a background check and submit to drug testing

- Demonstrate ability to learn pharmacy operating systems
- Assist in the training of pharmacy technicians, peer pharmacists and pharmacy students
