Job Summary
Evaluate prescriptions for dose appropriateness, therapeutic efficacy, allergies, drug interactions, and contraindications while processing claims, handling DURs, and resolving pre-authorizations. Perform final checks on all prescriptions to ensure accurate input, labeling, and dispensing, maintaining refill and narcotic logs. Provide clinical guidance to physicians and patient counseling as needed. Act as pharmacist-in-charge during manager absence, directing workflow and overseeing daily operations. Participate in quality improvement teams and community outreach efforts. Requires Maryland or DC pharmacist license, 1-2 years retail experience, CPR certification, and a salary range of $102,606 to $196,996 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland or District of Columbia (DC)
- 1-2 years Pharmacy experience preferably in retail
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Current Maryland or DC Pharmacist license including Immunization/Vaccination Certification and registration with the board of pharmacy in that state or district
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
