Pharmacist / Part-time

Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergies, drug interactions, and contraindications. Process prescriptions through insurance companies, handle DUR rejects, and manage pre-authorizations while communicating with third-party payors to troubleshoot coverage and reimbursement issues. Perform final checks on all prescriptions to ensure accurate input, labeling, and dispensing, maintaining refill and narcotic logs. Provide clinical information and guidance to physicians and allied health professionals, call regarding refill requests, and notify physicians of Rx's requiring pre-authorizations. Offer patient counseling on a patient-by-part basis. Act as pharmacist in charge during manager absence, directing workflow patterns and resolving issues requiring management intervention. Participate in meetings, committees, and multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
