Job Summary
Fill prescriptions, evaluate for appropriateness, and consult with physicians while maintaining records per Alberta Pharmaceutical Association guidelines. Administer injections and vaccinations, and provide patient-oriented advice on medication use and over-the-counter products. Supervise pharmacy technicians, manage perpetual inventory and ordering processes, and maintain product levels consistent with budgeted targets. Assist in department operations by preparing reports, processing claims, and maintaining equipment and housekeeping standards. You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and must obtain Additional Prescribing Authorization within one year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSc. Pharm)
- Licensed and registered with Alberta College of Pharmacists
- Superior patient relations with a strong sense of professionalism
- Authorization to Administer Medications by Injection
- Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) - Pharmacists working in the dispensary must obtain APA designation within one year of effective start date as a Pharmacist. New grads will have two years to obtain their APA designation.
