Job Summary
Oversee the daily operations of the Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy, managing workflow, clinical management of patients, and quality improvement; ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; drive pharmacy sales, inventory control, expense management, and asset protection; ensure accurate prescription filling and high-quality customer service for patients, prescribers, manufacturers, payers, and health systems; supervise staff to ensure licensure compliance and proper payer/contractual procedures; develop and maintain third-party pharmacy processes and specialized services (e.g., HIV, organ transplant, oncology).
Required Qualifications
- BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution
- Current pharmacist license in the states within the district (or willing to obtain in 1 year) per district guidelines
- At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance
- Has completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or has sufficient practical experience necessary to provide specialized services offered at clinic location (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.)
