Job Summary
Compound and dispense medications by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients while performing drug therapy reviews and verification. Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with state and federally-controlled substance laws. Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and generic alternatives, while resolving issues to ensure positive patient experience. Perform clinical and wellness services including diabetes and COPD management, and maintain pharmacy records and inventory. Assist the Pharmacy Director with workflow optimization, staff coaching, and system enhancements using tools like Script Pro. Process insurance claims accurately and follow up with providers to prevent payment rejections.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in prescription dispensing that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (DPh/PharmD) recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the US Department Education
- Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a Registered Pharmacist from any US state or the District of Columbia
Desired Qualifications
- Current, active, full and unrestricted license as a Pharmacist Clinician from any US state or the District of Columbia preferred
- Current DEA License (not listed on DEA Excluded Parties List) with Pharmacist Clinician license
- Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA) preferred
- Current BLS certification
