Job Summary
The Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) is the senior clinical and operational leader responsible for professional and regulatory oversight of all pharmacy operations, including compounding, dispensing, quality assurance, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Oversees USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards, regulatory inspections, SOPs, patient safety, controlled substances, and DEA compliance, while leading a team of pharmacists and technicians in a fast-paced, highly regulated compounding environment.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
- Active, unrestricted Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license in the State of Texas
- 5+ years of pharmacist experience, with at least 2 years in a compounding pharmacy or specialty pharmacy setting
- In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards and their practical application in a compounding environment
- Strong working knowledge of DEA regulations, controlled substance management, and FDA oversight requirements
- Demonstrated experience in pharmacy leadership, operations management, or as a Pharmacist-In-Charge
- Exceptional clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
