Job Summary
Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Supervise and direct pharmacy staff in scheduling, purchasing, and clinical operations. Collaborate with management to implement quality improvement and cost containment strategies. Provide clinical and technical support to regional staff while responding promptly to pharmaceutical inquiries. Maintain comprehensive patient records, including medical history, lab data, and concurrent medications. Accurately document all communications with healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers. Secure and maintain necessary documentation for federal and state regulatory compliance. Enforce safe practices for medication procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal. Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care goals. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or equivalent)
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice
- Demonstrated pharmacy experience
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and both federal and state regulations related to long-term care
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents
- Proficiency in computer use, including pharmacy management systems
