Job Summary
Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request, ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies according to established policies and protocols. Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify daily activities of technicians, correcting errors constructively while maintaining professional appearance and badge compliance. Perform sterile and hazardous sterile compounding in accordance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards, or review outpatient prescriptions for accuracy and formulary adherence. Manage medication and controlled substance inventories, counsel patients on drug interactions and side effects, and resolve problem prescriptions independently. Direct ancillary staff on immediate needs, participate in interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, and contribute to departmental policy creation. Work various shifts including weekends, with salary ranging from $127,982 to $166,400 annually.
Required Qualifications
- 5 year degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Must maintain all requirements including continuing education as mandated for by the New York State Board of Pharmacy
- Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist
- Licensed and currently registered in the state of New York to practice pharmacy
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
