Job Summary
Prepare and dispense medication orders per physician request, ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies while verifying daily activities of pharmacy technicians. Review prescriptions for accuracy, maintain accurate patient profiles and controlled substance inventories, and counsel patients on drug interactions and proper use. Supervise pharmacy support personnel in accordance with NYS Board of Pharmacy regulations and departmental policies. Resolve problem prescriptions independently, participate in departmental quality assurance processes, and address immediate needs or barriers to patient discharge using interdisciplinary collaboration. Work various shifts without weekends, adapting to frequent interruptions and changes in workload while maintaining professional appearance and compliance with all state and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- 5 year degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Must maintain all requirements including continuing education as mandated for by the New York State Board of Pharmacy
- Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist
- Licensed and currently registered in the state of New York to practice pharmacy
- No weekends
- Various Shifts
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, Stooping, walking
- Frequent grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), fit testing
- Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, chemical
- Occasional extreme temperatures, vibration, wet and/or humid, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors
- Occasional Travel
