Job Summary
Manage dispensary duties in the Main Pharmacy, including medication order and profile review, entry into Meditech Expanse, and troubleshooting clinical and drug distribution issues. Act as a resource for Pharmacy Technicians and Students while providing back-up coverage for patient care units on decentralized medication reconciliation and problem investigation. Handle remote coverage of other sites on nights, evenings, and weekends based at Oakville. Perform aseptic technique and maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. Phm
- Licensed or eligible for licensure under Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists register
- Hospital pharmacy residency preferred
- Relevant clinical experience
- Meditech computer experience
- Dispensing skills
- Aseptic technique
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Problem recognition and problem solving skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with competing priorities in a fast-paced progressive environment
- Well-organized, self-directed, set priorities, and manage time effectively
- Ability to interact patiently, effectively, and professionally with staff and physicians
- Commitment to service excellence and patient safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
- Pre-employment medical clearance
