Job Summary
Prepare medications for final dispensing, including filling, order entry, and packaging, while reviewing completed orders to ensure accuracy and legality based on patient allergies and medication incompatibilities. Verify pharmaceutical feasibility of prescriptions, interpret orders with professional judgment, and answer questions from patients, doctors, and nurses. Manage inventory levels, place cost-effective orders, notify facilities of stockouts, restock station supplies, and oversee technician performance. Log all error medication occurrences and adhere to Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD
- State Pharmacist License required without restrictions
- 1+ years of related experience
- Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
- Great attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
- Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
- Advanced computer skills
- pharmacy operations system experience
