Pharmacist, Consultant on the Prior Authorization (PA) team reviews authorization requests for coverage under the outpatient pharmacy benefit, supporting the Blue Shield of California Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee to ensure evidence-based clinical decisions and cost-effective pharmacy benefits. The Pharmacist, Consultant (Drug Utilization Review Pharmacist) reports to the DUR Pharmacist Manager and contributes to a high-quality PA process.
Required Qualifications
- Pharmacist license
- Doctorate in Pharmacy or equivalent
- clinical knowledge related to PA reviews
- familiarity with outpatient pharmacy benefits
