Job Summary
Review and evaluate patient medication lists and orders for optimal dosing, interactions, and drug therapy adjustments in the emergency department. Provide direct patient care for visual assessment of drug-related effects and assist with pharmacological management during code strokes, cardiac arrests, and procedural sedations. Lead the organization's medication reconciliation team and act as the pharmacy content expert for developing emergency medicine guidelines, order sets, and educational materials. Routinely provide medical, pharmacy, and nursing staff education. Requires a Pharm.D. and active New York State license; salary range $51.71 to $73.48 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Pharmacy
- Current, active license to practice pharmacy in New York State
- Eligible for reciprocal licensure from another state
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
Desired Qualifications
- Pharm. D.
- PGY2 in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care
- 3 years equivalent experience
- BCPS certification
- BCCCP certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to respond to questions quickly and accurately
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations
- Knowledge of current pharmacy principles and practices related to medication reconciliation
- Knowledge of drug therapy review
- Knowledge of pharmacy principles in critical care
