Job Summary
Dispense medications accurately, including intravenous admixtures and chemotherapy, while monitoring patient drug therapies for contraindications and interactions. Issue controlled substances, interpret patient chart data, and document all clinical activities and interventions. Provide clinical consultation to practitioners and drug information to staff and families, promoting rational drug therapy selection. Participate in quality improvement, medication use reviews, and monthly storage area inspections. Work independently to prioritize assignments and ensure timely pharmacy services.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy
- NYS Pharmacy license
- Basic and advanced computer skills
- proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Able to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
