Job Summary

Dispense medications accurately, including intravenous admixtures and chemotherapy, while monitoring patient drug therapies for contraindications and interactions. Issue controlled substances, interpret patient chart information, and provide clinical consultation to practitioners and drug information to staff and families. Document all interventions, participate in quality improvement and medication use reviews, and complete monthly storage area inspections independently. Assume pharmacy manager responsibilities when needed, train new employees, and prioritize work assignments to ensure timely service delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy
  • NYS Pharmacy license
  • Basic and advanced computer skills
  • proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to maintain concentration and accuracy despite a busy environment
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team

Desired Qualifications

  • Oncology pharmacy board certification (BCOP)
  • Health system pharmacy experience
