Job Summary
Lead the design, project execution, and commissioning of automation systems for biopharmaceutical facilities, guiding upgrades, renovations, and expansions from feasibility through handover. Execute project stages including concept design, procurement, construction monitoring, and qualification protocols while preparing electrical drawings, reviewing vendor programming, and troubleshooting control systems. Facilitate work across Process Engineering, Validation, and client stakeholders by managing project tools, tracking procurement, and coordinating cross-functional meetings. Supervise contractors during critical installations and occasionally support shutdowns or extended hours. Maintain key client relationships, provide technical support for sales proposals, and present at industry conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Knowledge of GMP requirements for working in pharma/biotech facilities
- Basic understanding of SOPs, Validation, Change Controls
- Knowledge of GAMP and data integrity requirements
- Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical, Electromechanical, Controls, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of pharma building automation engineering experience
- At least 3 years of building controls experience with BAS
- Knowledge of Siemens Insight or Desigo
- Ability to read electrical drawings
- Ability to read Siemens BAS Code (Insight or Desigo)
- Leadership skills

- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for occasional travel
- Must be available for occasional support over shutdowns or extended hours
Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years pharma building automation engineering experience
- 5+ years building controls experience with BAS
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
