Job Summary
The Patient Account Representative at CHOC is responsible for resolving account balances with insurance companies and patients while ensuring accurate claim filing and collections. This role requires a combination of billing experience, knowledge of regulatory guidelines, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with billing and follow-up of Hospital / Physician claims
- Knowledge of paper and electronic billing
- Working knowledge with Medicare, Medi-Cal, CCS, Cal-Optima, Private, PPO and HMO
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding
- Understanding of payer contracts
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
- Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Poise and composure in stressful situations
