Job Summary
Petroleum Inspector performs sampling and quantity surveys at client facilities (refineries, terminals, tank farms, and related sites) across shore tanks, barges, vessels, railcars, and trucks. The role requires ensuring equipment is in good operating condition, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, collecting samples, preparing paperwork, delivering samples to laboratories or client facilities, and communicating discrepancies to supervisors. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of related experience, proficiency with shore tanks/trucks/rail cars/pipelines, knowledge of HS&E procedures, ability to work independently, good communication skills, and possession of or ability to obtain required certifications (e.g., TWIC, IFIA/TIC). The role includes 24-hour on-call status and on-site responsibilities at client facilities, with physical demands and safety considerations described in the job posting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–4 years of related experience and/or training
- Proficiency in shore tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, and barges
- Knowledge of HS&E procedures and related governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
- Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
- TWIC card and IFIA/TIC certification (per job requirements)
