Job Summary
Install and remove underground storage tanks (USTs), operate excavation equipment like backhoes and skid steers, and install underground piping, sumps, and monitoring systems at commercial sites. Read blueprints, collect soil samples during removals, and assist with tank and fuel line testing while completing daily reports and inspection documentation. Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations to maintain a safe, organized job site. This role requires steady, year-round work with potential sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of petroleum construction, UST installation/removal, or fuel system installation experience
- Experience operating excavation equipment safely and efficiently
- Working knowledge of underground fuel systems, piping, tank components, and containment systems
- Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and construction specifications
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety practices and job site procedures
- Experience working independently while contributing to a construction crew
- Willingness to travel regionally as project needs require
- Must be 21+ years old
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record for the past five years
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical with extensive lifting (up to 75 lb), twisting, pulling, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug-screening and background check
- If the position is classified as safety-sensitive, requires the applicant to pass a comprehensive drug test, including screening for marijuana, as a condition of employment

- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER
- Confined Space Certification
- Additional petroleum industry certifications
