Job Summary

Conduct onsite animal care and assessments for pets in our Thirsk rehoming centre, preparing them for adoption by following rehabilitation plans. Meet with owners surrendering pets to record information, complete paperwork, and assess for behavioural or veterinary issues. Provide in-person or virtual advice to new owners regarding behaviour training and medical needs. Transport pets using company vehicles and perform night checks or stay overnight in onsite accommodation as required. Work independently and collaboratively to ensure welfare standards are met and pets leave the centre quickly. Requires a full driving licence, experience in animal welfare environments, and resilience in emotionally charged settings.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience of having previously worked or volunteered with domestic animals or in an animal welfare environment
  • Previous experience in working in a customer focused environment and used to achieving a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and administration skills to include computerised systems
  • Current full driving licence
  • A full driving licence is required for this role
  • As part of your role you will be using company vehicles to transport pets
  • You will be intuitive with pets

Desired Qualifications
