Pet Therapy Hospice Volunteer

Provide friendly visits with a certified pet to patients and families in homes, in-patient units, and skilled nursing facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and listening while assisting with errands, shopping, or light housekeeping. Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, providing input to the plan of care and documenting visit activity accurately. Maintain open communication by reporting regularly to the volunteer coordinator and participate in bereavement follow-ups. Adhere to all policies, complete mandatory annual education, and meet health requirements. Assist in training new volunteers as appropriate.
