Pet Therapy Hospice Volunteer

Provide friendly visits with a certified pet to patients and families in homes, in-patient units, and skilled nursing facilities. Offer emotional support, companionship, and essential services such as errands, shopping, or light housekeeping. Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team by assisting with the plan of care and documenting visit activities accurately. Maintain open communication with the volunteer coordinator, participate in bereavement follow-ups, and complete mandatory annual education and health requirements. Adhere to all policies while assisting in the training of new volunteers.
