Job Summary
Conduct daily receiving, unloading, and stacking of merchandise in the back room. Fill, rotate, and merchandise shelves, cases, and displays on the sales floor while maintaining clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments. Handle small live animals and insects for customer purchase, including rodents, crickets, meal worms, gerbils, snakes, and small reptiles. Operate cash registers and electronic scanners to itemize customer purchases. Notify the manager if products and supplies need ordering. Handle spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines. Follow all PPE, safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines. Stand and walk for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (GED) preferred
- Retail or related experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
- Basic mathematical skills
- Detail oriented
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Travel requirements vary by assignment
