Job Summary
Pet Paradise seeks a Playtime Coordinator to organize and supervise daytime dog playgroups at our Charlottesville resort. Responsibilities include interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas (play-yard and pool), maintaining visual observation of dogs at all times, distributing attention and play among dogs, minimizing stress and managing aggressive or unusual behaviors, following established procedures and dog-handling techniques, and assisting with cleaning and play-yard maintenance. The role requires excellent customer service and organizational skills, a true passion for working with animals, and comfort working around dogs of all sizes. Physical duties include lifting up to 60 lbs and staying active in all-weather conditions; flexibility is needed for schedule variations including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times. Required Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- True passion for working with animals
- Ability to work in all-weather conditions (heat and humidity)
- Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping
- Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs safely and frequently, using the OSHA standard three points of contact
