Job Summary
Pet Groomer (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) at PetSmart performs full-service grooming including baths, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services, following grooming standards; engages with pet parents, schedules appointments, maintains client records, and promotes salon sales while upholding cleanliness and pet health and safety standards. Responsibilities include greeting pet parents, handling reservations, performing check-in/out, and coordinating with other departments; ensures high-quality customer experience and sales targets. Requires prior grooming experience or 6 months in Stylist in Training with Salon Academy training and safety certification or passing salon technical evaluation; proficiency in computer applications; ability to work under pressure; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills; physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds regularly and more than 100 pounds with team lift; willingness to assist other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience in the Stylist in Training job with Successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. program or passes the salon technical evaluation.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
- Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
