Job Summary
Performs full menu of bath, brush, and grooming services for dogs and/or cats, including nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services, following PetSmart grooming standards. Recommends health and wellness solutions based on pet needs; manages the pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register; greets pet parents, answers questions, assists with reservations, and conducts appointment reminders. Conducts check-in/out procedures, maintains client records and rebooking, promotes salon sales and merchandise, and maintains high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane treatment of pets. Takes action when a sick or injured pet is identified and coordinates transport to the vet as needed. Assists in other departments as required. Follows company policies and procedures. Requires a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays) and strong grooming-related qualifications: grooming experience or Stylist-in-Training with Salon Academy certification or salon evaluation; proficiency with computer applications; ability to work under pressure; strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience in the Stylist in Training job with Successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification program or passes the salon technical evaluation.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
- Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
