Pet Groomer

Job Summary
Performs a full menu of grooming services (bath, brush, nails, teeth brushing, and sanitary services) and engages with pet parents to provide positive salon experiences while maintaining cleanliness and pet safety standards. Also recommends health and wellness solutions, handles reservations and client records, promotes salon sales and merchandise, and ensures accurate check-in/check-out and rebooking. The position requires prior grooming experience or 6 months in Stylist-in-Training with Salon Academy training or passing the salon technical evaluation; proficiency with computer applications; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; and the physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a wet environment with pet hair. It may involve acting promptly when a pet is ill or injured and assisting in other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Prior grooming experience; or 6 months of experience in the Stylist in Training job with Successful completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification program or passes the salon technical evaluation.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
- Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
