Job Summary
Operate Positron Emission Tomography equipment to produce images and measure radioactive isotope concentrations for physician diagnosis and treatment. Perform imaging and quantitative data analysis, manage patient scheduling, dose ordering, and insurance processing while ensuring accurate documentation. Conduct quality control, maintain records for NRC, State, and ACR accreditations, and follow ALARA radiation safety protocols. Handle patient care from pediatric through geriatric, operate computer systems, and perform image manipulation and storage. Participate as a team member by fulfilling additional assignments as workload requires.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Meets the requirements by AART
- Registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMCTB), American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Applicants must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
- Must be BLS certified
- Must receive registration and be proficient within six months in position (if new grad)
- Licensed in the state of Virginia preferred but not required
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years preferred, but will accept new graduates who are able to achieve proficiency within six months
- PET certification preferred
