Job Summary
Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to identify pest infestations, damage, and entry points. Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, to eliminate pests while adhering to safety standards and regulations. Educate customers on prevention methods and schedule appointments to expand product offerings. Maintain equipment, operate a company vehicle, and work in confined spaces like attics and crawl spaces. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to work weekends, and clean-shaven face for safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license from state of residence
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations
- Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Clean shaven face
- Ability to work both inside and outside in local climate
- Ability to work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
- Ability to work around animals, insects and termites
- Ability to work around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator
- Ability to regularly sit, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to safely operate a company provided service vehicle
- Ability to resolve conflicts and disputes in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner
- Ability to make financial quotes and commitments on behalf of the company
- Ability to use, handle, and have access to regulated chemicals
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle on the public streets
- Ability to receive company equipment to perform work
- Ability to identify and eliminate pests from residential properties
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections
- Ability to determine the type of pest infestation
- Ability to apply appropriate treatments like pesticides and traps
- Ability to provide preventative measures to prevent future infestations
- Ability to adhere to safety regulations
- Ability to communicate with clients about pest control solutions
- Ability to educate customers on pest prevention methods
- Ability to provide advice on how to reduce the risk of future infestations
- Ability to build relationships with customers
- Ability to schedule and confirm appointments
- Ability to help with sales to current customers
- Ability to expand product to new customers
- Ability to ensure that all pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition
- Ability to adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols
- Ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels
- Ability to work in customer's residences, property, and places of business often unsupervised
- Ability to have access to vulnerable populations
- Ability to have access to company and customer's records including personal identifiable information
- Ability to have access to financial records
- Ability to have access to regulated chemicals that could cause harm to humans or the environment if used inappropriately
- Ability to work closely with other colleagues, vendors and/or customers
- Ability to find and eliminate insect and rodent infestations
