Job Summary
Conduct psychosocial, financial, and medical assessments for high-risk HIV patients while providing sexual health education and PrEP adherence counseling. Assist clients in navigating healthcare barriers by completing applications for insurance access, PrEP medications, and STI testing. Coordinate multidisciplinary care with medical, psychiatric, and nursing staff to link patients with community resources and public agency services. Provide social work coverage and maintain strong relationships with representatives from public and private agencies to facilitate patient entry into care systems. Requires English and Spanish fluency, a Master of Social Work degree, and Washington state clinical licensure.
Required Qualifications
- English and Spanish fluency
- Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- One year of full-time social work experience in a health care setting or equivalent
- Agency Affiliated Counselor credential issued by the state of Washington
- Licensed Social Work Associate – Advanced credential issued by the state of Washington
- Licensed Social Work Associate – Independent Clinical credential issued by the state of Washington
- Licensed Advance Social Worker credential issued by the state of Washington
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker credential issued by the state of Washington
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care related setting or equivalent
- Eligible to be a social work practicum instructor for the University of Washington School of Social Work
- Eligible for credentialing through the Harborview Medical Center Administrative Credentialing Committee for Allied Health Practitioners
