Personnel Security Specialist Grade 2

Personnel Security Specialist II reviews investigation request documentation for accuracy and completeness, processes e-QIP packets for FBI and contractor employees, initiates background investigations, reviews submitted information, corresponds with applicants for clarifying information, performs data entry for records, creates case files, forwards cases for processing, and submits e-QIP to OPM. Provides direct support to FBI Security Program investigations, conducts and analyzes interviews, handles subjects ranging from FBI applicants to personnel requiring security clearances, supports research into security-related matters, completes written reports and oral presentations, advises on sensitive matters, manages personnel security documentation, and prepares BI and security clearance materials for adjudication; ensures compliance with Federal standards and FBI policy, and coordinates with FBI Field Offices for investigation initiation and leads. Desired familiarity includes Federal Investigative Standards (FISs), SEADs, EO US CFR, and related guidelines, alongside strong Microsoft Office skills and open-source research.
