Job Summary
Verify and issue Common Access Cards and Uniformed Service Identification cards to eligible recipients by serving as the Verifying Official on DEERS/RAPIDS terminals. Assist customers with identification card eligibility, application requirements, and DEERS updates while maintaining accurate input data and monitoring wait times. Perform customer services including PIN resets, PKI certificate updates, and ICA services, ensuring all actions comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 and Federal Information Processing Standards. Maintain RAPIDS equipment, manage printer maintenance, and keep the VPN connected. Record labor hours daily and assist with monthly metrics reporting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a Customer Service environment
- Must have the ability to pass a Navy background check and receive interim clearance before starting, and later maintain a secret clearance
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
- Flexibility to cover hours in the event of a full-time employee being unavailable to work
- Proficient in both oral and written communication in order to communicate effectively with others and explain complex actions taken in regard to military members' entitlements, allowances, and collections
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and military terminology commonly used in office settings to prepare material correctly
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment, like computers, electric typewriters, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and other office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support
- Ability to multitask in a high-stress, performance-based environment
- Ability to establish priorities and meet established deadlines
- Ability to travel locally up to 10% as required
Desired Qualifications
- Human Resource (HR) background in either Military Personnel or DEEPS/RAPIDS preferred
- Similar HR experience gained from either the private sector or another Federal Agency is acceptable
