Job Summary
On-site Personnel Assistant role focused on supporting complex human resources functions within a military setting. Responsibilities include administrative and research support for the Directorate of Human Resources at Ft. Polk, maintaining professional customer service, handling HR functions such as Personnel Records, In & Out Processing, and DEERS/Identification Card Management, supervising within a specific MPD work center, coordinating with unit administrators and commanders, delivering briefings and counseling Soldiers and Family Members on HR procedures, administering HR specialty roles (e.g., Soldier Readiness Processing, Soldier Actions, Promotion Processing, Casualty Management), and ensuring compliance with HQDA directives and HR policies. Requires HRIS familiarity, data accuracy, and adherence to security practices in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in human resources preferred
- skill-level 3 technical proficiency across military HR functional areas
- At least 3 years of experience in a human resources role within a military or defense setting
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of staff
- Experience using HRIS and databases
- Ability to conduct detailed research and provide accurate HR policy records
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision
