Job Summary
Lead a team of up to fifteen Personal Trainers by overseeing program execution, conducting regular one-on-one meetings, and managing hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations. Maintain an active personal training schedule to drive revenue while ensuring trainers adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and documentation standards. Manage trainer schedules aligned with member demand, monitor key performance metrics for revenue and attendance, and serve as a point of contact for member feedback and engagement initiatives. Assist in designing fitness challenges and promoting training services through on-floor interactions. Work Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, with Thursday and Friday shifts ending at 5:00 pm and two Saturdays monthly, plus potential weekend or overnight coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must maintain an active Personal Training Certification (NCCA-accredited) or Bachelor's degree in exercise science or kinesiology
- CPR/AED certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in personal training, group fitness, or fitness leadership
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to inspire and develop a team
- Business acumen and a results-driven mindset
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Excel's mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements
- Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, DataTrak, and other related applications
- Must be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Demonstrate the ability, confidence, and leadership to run a successful small group session with members
