Job Summary
Conduct safe, effective one-on-one personal training sessions with recreation center participants of varying fitness levels. Deliver fitness programming covering strength training, aerobic training, flexibility, and exercise selection while educating clients on nutrition and wellness. Maintain CPR/AED certification and National Personal Trainer credentials, updated through Continuing Education Credits. Work flexible schedules including days, nights, and weekends to support recreation programs and special events. Assist in establishing working relationships with employees and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in personal training
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Graduation from high school or completion of GED
- Current National Personal Trainer certification
- Possession of current certifications in CPR/AED
Desired Qualifications
- First Aid certification
- Understanding and knowledge of exercise science, nutrition and wellness
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public
- Knowledge of the principals and practices of fitness programming
- Knowledge in all areas of fitness including strength training, aerobic training, flexibility, exercise selection and training intensity and duration for various goals
